What is Limmud?

Limmud is the celebration of Jewish cultural diversity for people of all religions and political
persuasions. Fascinating presentations provoke lively discussions while creative workshops
invite participants to dance and sing. The breaks provide opportunities to exchange ideas and
enjoy delicious food. Presentations are held in German and in English; some are in Russian
and in Hebrew. This environment of mutual respect nurtures deeper understanding of
oneself and of the multifaceted Jewish life in Vienna.

Limmud originated in the United Kingdom, where it started 30 years ago as a small
conference. Since then, the movement has grown, flourished and expanded, now embracing
over 80 Limmud communities worldwide. In Vienna, Limmud will be held this year on Sunday
19 November. We cordially invite you to share our festival of learning, discussion and fun.
